Guardrail Križ – Lipovljani
Project for Improving Safety on the A3 Motorway Section between the Križ and Lipovljani Interchanges
On the A3 motorway (Bregana – Zagreb – Lipovac), between the Križ and Lipovljani interchanges, a project is being implemented to improve traffic safety through the installation of new guardrails (safety barriers) and the replacement of existing ones, in accordance with European safety standards.
On the section with a total length of approximately 45.7 kilometres (between km 73+900 and km 119+660), the installation and replacement of guardrails is planned along both carriageways and in the central reserve. This intervention will significantly reduce the consequences of traffic accidents (reducing the number of fatalities and injuries), thereby increasing traffic safety on the specified A3 motorway section.
The general objective of the project is to harmonize the system of guardrails on Croatian motorways with applicable regulations, standards, and EU Directive 2008/96/EC.
By implementing the project, the safety of all road users will be enhanced, the consequences of traffic accidents reduced, and the quality of service and user satisfaction improved. In this way, the project contributes to a safer and more efficient road transport system in the Republic of Croatia as part of the trans-European road network.
The project is co-financed through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
